Anatomy and Physiology I Lab (BIOL 205 L2)

Course Description

Focuses on the fundamental concepts and mechanisms that regulate important structural and functional properties of human organ systems. This course is concerned with the normal function of the intact organism with an emphasis placed on musculoskeletal and neuroendocrine function. Laboratory course. Prerequisites: BIOL 150 and CHEM 100 or equivalent or consent of instructor

Course Objectives

  • Learn and implement the terminology appropriate to communicate topics in anatomy and physiology.

  • Understand how form fits function specifically as it pertains to human integumentary, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. This understanding includes being able to identify structures and explain their physiological functions.

  • Develop critical thinking skills in which you can use your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess clinical situations. This development will require an understanding of homeostasis and the role of feedback loops.
