Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, I attended The Paideia School for my high school education. There I learned important skills valuable in the workforce including how to communicate effectively with decorum and respect. For my undergraduate education, I went to Hendrix College where I graduated with a BA in biology and a chemistry minor. During my time at Hendrix, I had the opportunity to perform an independent study in research evaluating the effects of corticosteroids on fetal muscle development. I also joined several social and community organizations and was an intern for the admissions department. After graduating, I moved to the University of Minnesota Duluth to study natriuretic peptides and their role in hearing. I graduate with a MS in Integrated Biological Sciences with an emphasis in cellular, molecular and physiological biology. I completed an independent research and thesis project and was a graduate teaching assistant.

I returned to Atlanta in 2015, and started working as a medical assistant in a fast-paced dermatology practice. In my current role as a patient care coordinator and trainer I coordinate the daily functions of clinic, assist in cosmetic and surgical procedures, scribe for my providers, code their medical notes, facilitate patients’ experiences and schedule and coordinate visits and procedures across 3 offices with 9 providers. I am independent and relied upon for many different tasks in our office and have grown to be a key piece in the functionality of my clinic.

I am open to many different opportunities and have many valuable skills applicable to a many fields. Having a strong foundation in communication and patient care has allowed me to develop my skills as someone who can handle a variety of roles, is efficient and effective in my tasks, and is calm under pressure.
